If you are planning to build an approach to access your property from an RM road you must apply to the RM before doing so.
This application can be picked up at the RM office or printed off using the link below.
Applications must be made by the landowner of the property to which the approach would or does grant access. Exceptions may be approved by the RM.
It is the responsibility of the landowner to construct the approach. All new approaches require the installation of a culvert, the minimum size is determined by the RM. This aids in spring run off and heavy rainfall events.
Approaches locations must be approved by the RM or Forman prior to construction.
Approach construction must conform to all conditions outlined in the approach application, the general regulations and other existing government reglaulations, policies or bylaws.

General Approach Regulations
- The approach shall be constructed with clean earth, free from organic matter, frozen soil, topsoil, slumps, trees, rocks, etc.
- That the existing drainage is not compromised.
- Minimum 40 meters from the nearest existing approach on the same quarter or on the same roadway and shall be at least 75 meters from an intersection, unless otherwise approved by the Municipality.
- The approach shall be constructed with a minimum 18 foot driving surface to a maximum 40 foot driving surface.
- Having slope of 5 to 1 for the safety of the travelling public, unless otherwise approved by the Municipality.
- Ditch shall be free from excess materials, rock, dirt, etc. upon completion of approach construction.
Approach applications are pre-approved providing all requirements are met and will receive municipal approval at the next regular council meeting.
